So just a quick update since we haven't posted in a little while. The BBB is in the shop. The guys down at The Garage on Canal Street in Salem are helping us out. The BBB had them so perplexed that they had to cut the bolt that held the back door together to be able to get in. Te he he... I hope the Bus wont be too perplexing for Bruce and I anytime soon.
Thankfully they don't have to do too much work on the Bus. So what have they done? They have re-tweaked ... or Un-tweaked the sliding door, they are fixing the back locking mechanism so that it doesn't stay locked all the time (which is why we couldn't get it open). The passenger side door window needs some work so that it will actually come down all the way. They are also fixing the breaks and changing the oil... They said that the BBB looks in pretty good condition and that it should be good to go to Mongolia soon. Also because of its age, the parts for the BBB are ubiquitous and easy to get. This will be good for its new owners in UlaanBataar. The lift works great and everything else seems to be in good working order. YEAH!!! We hope to pick it up soon and drive it around some more.
Fundraising efforts are going well. We are almost at the threshold for the minimum we need for charity fundraising, 1000 pounds sterling. We are starting to get sponsorship. Thank you again to everyone who as supported us so far. Keep putting the word out!.
We will be having a fundraising Ceilidh (dancing not skits) on June 4th at the UU church in Salem. It should be a blast (we hope) still trying to figure out the details. Get back to you soon on that one. But SAVE the DATE! SATURDAY JUNE 4th.
Well that is what is going on here in SALEM. Stay tuned .
Viva Mongollia!
